SENER MARINE signs a FORAN contract with ASC Shipbuilding Pty Limited20/07/2020 (Spain)
Madrid, July 20th, 2020.- SENER Marine has signed an important contract with ASC Shipbuilding Pty Limited, based in Osborne Naval Shipyard, Adelaide, South Australia, to implement the FORAN CAD/CAM system developed by SENER for use in the design and production of the Hunter Class Frigates.
The Hunter Class Frigate is a future class of frigates for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) to replace the Anzac-class. The class will have a 8,800-tonne full load displacement and will be approximately 150 metres in length.
The Hunter program is the largest surface ship project in the Australian nation’s defence history. The Hunter is a multi-billion dollar program with the Government having approved the initial budget of $6 billion for the design activity to incorporate the Australian requirements, to conduct prototyping of ship blocks in the new shipyard at Osborne, and to order long-lead items for the first three ships.
The scope of the contract includes the installation of permanent FORAN system licenses for every area of design (hull forms, general layout and naval architecture; structure; machinery and outfitting; electrical design and graphical outputs).
