Beihai Qihang Ship Design, new FORAN customer01/10/2018 (Spain)
Shanghai, October 1, 2018 -. Beihai Qihang Ship Design Co., Ltd, a private Chinese ship design company, has signed a contract with the engineering and technology group SENER for implementing SENER’s shipbuilding CAD/CAM system FORAN. Located in the coastal city Beihai in south China, the company Beihai Qihang Ship Design Co., Ltd. (to be called Qihang) is specialized in fishing vessel design. After careful selection and evaluation of different CAD/CAM systems Qihang has decided to implement FORAN onto their design team.
Packages of Hull Forms, General Arrangement & Naval Architecture, Structure Design, Outfitting Design and Drafting were delivered to Qihang. The General Manager of Qihang, Mr. Hui Li stated that design efficiency is very critical for the company since Qihang shall make many new designs every year. With the implementation of FORAN, as an integrated system with all the information compiled in one single data base as well as the concurrent working environment can both significantly improve the working efficiency. On the other hand, FORAN can reduce design errors and well integrate with other tools like FEM and PLM which makes it easy to reuse data. These are the reasons why Qihang has decided to implement FORAN.
FORAN is a shipbuilding oriented CAD/CAM system with more than 50 year experience. It is a state-of-the-art smart software for ship design including all sign disciplines of hull form design, Naval Architecture Calculation, Hull Design, Outfitting Design, Electrical Design, FEM link, PLM integration, Virtual Reality, Control Management etc. The system can be used in the whole design process including Conceptual Design, Basic Design, Detail Design and Production Design. FORAN is suitable for design of all kind of vessels, war ships, commercial ships and offshore projects.
SENER has signed a contract with the owner Rimorchiatori Riuniti Panfido & C.s.r.l for delivering the basic engineering and technical assistance in the construction of a liquefied natural gas (LNG) SBBT unit, which will operate in Italy and the Adriatic.... [+]
